Fashion is something that a lot of people would say is self-expression in the form of choosing an outfit and accessories. For some people, fashion might be finding the best designer pieces, while for some it might be creating the most extra outfit possible.

Fashion is a way that people can express themselves and the people we see use fashion to their advantage a lot are celebrities. Fashion is everchanging as the trends and styles that are popular change with the times.

A lot of the time we look at celebrities, models, and fashion icons to see what the next best trends are for fashion and that's what we'll be talking about today. Most of us know a few fashion icons such as Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn who were trendsetters and used their fashion style to express themselves.

Most of the time fashion is based on your personal look and feel, but some of these celebrities have to switch up their fashion taste frequently if they are acting in a film. We are going to dive into a list of twenty well-known celebrities who heavily influenced American fashion by either setting trends or just being known for their style.

James Dean is known for his white t-shirt, jeans, and leather jacket. This style was brought into every household and it was perfect for those of both gender. 

2. Jackie Kennedy

Jackie actually brought a youthful feel to the White House. She was often seen in Chanel suits and monochromatic looks, as well as accessorized with pearls. 

3. Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn is one of the most known fashion icons. She is the infamous one who made "the little black dress" a thing for women. 

4. Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe is yet another that we've all heard of and seen. She's most known for her look with the white flowy dress featuring a plunging neckline. 

5. Diana Ross

Diana Ross is known for a more playful look with an elegance that she always seems to bring with every outfit.

Cher was known for wearing feathers, barely-there dresses, and sequins. Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa keep this same fashion style alive today.

Mark is well known for his fashion taste by being a model for Calvin Klein. This particular modeling photo has been replicated many times on social media.

Brooke's style took off after she became an advocate for Calvin Klein. She usually wore preppy styles of clothing, figure accentuating items, and button-ups.

Fashion is such a great thing and it could probably even be considered entertainment by the way we judge red carpet outfits. We're lucky to have had some really amazing fashion icons in our time as they've really made a difference in fashion and body positivity which has carried on into our time.
