Celebrities do live in a world of their own. Even though they try to convince us that they are not entitled and are still just like us, not many of us believe that whole "Jenny from the block" stuff.

That's because they slip up sometimes and do some stuff that shows how they really think and feel. Now we are not judging because these actions don't make them bad persons, but their efforts to portray themselves as our equals really insult our intelligence.

We know that they have to maintain contact with their fans, but it's really distasteful sometimes. While it is true that celebrities live lives that are more privileged than the average person, hearing them say things that are tone-deaf and reek of luxury is never a pleasant experience.

Because, regrettably, many celebrities are so engulfed by their wealth, and power that they cannot recognize how other people are dealing with life. Let's take a look at some of the stars who have, regrettably, made such remarks.

Have you ever noticed how some incredibly wealthy, privileged, and well-connected celebrities like to act as if they aren't? They despise acknowledging it for some reason, which is quite aggravating.

Here are 16 times they were completely unaware of how wealthy they are:

1. Kim Kardashian

She actually told working women, "Get your fucking ass up and work."

2. Grimes

The Canadian singer talked about ex Elon Musk and said,

"Bro does not live like a billionaire. ... Bro lives at times below the poverty line — to the point where I was like, 'Can we not live in a very insecure $40,000 house?"

3. Finneas

Finneas (who has wealthy and famous parents) said in a now-deleted tweet,

"'Shooting your shot' is promoted widely and I think honestly, it's a little overrated. Work super hard alone or with your closest friends.
Make shit so good it speaks for itself. Don't pester people to work with you, let them come to you."

4. Ben Stiller

He argued that Hollywood wasn't nepotistic in his reply to a journalist's tweet that critiqued a movie made by the children of famous directors/producers:

5. Kelly Ripa

Ripa is married to another millionaire TV star Mark Consuelos. She talked about her son moving into his own Brooklyn apartment and said,

“I don’t think he ever really experienced extreme poverty like now.”

6. Gwyneth Paltrow

The millionaire actress took part in a $29 food stamps weekly budget challenge:

7. Ben Platt

He denied that nepotism played a role in the green-lighting of Dear Evan Hansen, even though his father Marc Platt produced the movie:

8. Chrissy Teigen

She joked about her mother needing to buy AirPods all the time:

9. Bella Hadid

The poor model complained that her mom didn't buy her Louboutins until after she graduated high school:

10. Sam Smith

He posted his emotional quarantine experience from his mansion:

11. Jennifer Lopez

She posted her quarantine experience during the height of the pandemic , while people were losing their jobs:

12. Kendall Jenner

She talked about modeling and said,

“Since the beginning, we’ve been super selective about what shows I would do. I was never one of those girls who would do, like, 30 shows a season or whatever the fuck those girls do. More power to ‘em.”

13. Addison Rae

She joked, “I studied broadcast journalism in college for three months to prepare” to host a UFC fight

14. Justin Bieber and Kendall Jenner

Justin said to Kendall,

"How blessed are we — a lot of people in this time have a crappy situation. They look at us, and obviously, we've worked hard for where we're at.
We can't feel bad for the things we have, but us taking that time to acknowledge that there are people who are struggling is important."

Kendall nodded along with Justin and said, "Yeah, I think about it all the time."

15. James Charles

Charles tried to justify the cost of $500 tickets to see him:

16. Dixie D'Amelio

She made a super privileged comment,

"I fully got into college in August of 2019, and I decided not to go just because traveling back and forth was going to be a lot. I was also really scared because I saw someone make a TikTok, saying that they would play my songs at a frat party.
That's really what, like, turned me away from going to school because I don't think I could handle that level of embarrassment,” she said.

We can’t really blame these celebs. Many of them were born into famous and wealthy families, and those who were born poor and rose to stardom on their own tend to forget where they came from.
